HATHAWAY ELECTRONICS, INC. was originally founded in 1946. The present ownership has been in place since 1987 and had been salesmen for HATHAWAY prior to an asset purchase. Coverage area is the six New England States (MA, CT, NH, VT, ME, RI).
The main office is located in Lexington, MA near the heart of the "128 TECHNOLOGY REGION".
HATHAWAY has two areas of primary focus: POWER CONVERSION & MOTION CONTROL. We are "design in" oriented but know what it takes to get from prototype to production. This is through close communication with engineering, purchasing, operations and the manufacturer. Eighty-five percent of our business is with commercial OEM's, ten percent is military and five percent is through distribution. We are positioned in the growth markets of: Alternative Energy; Automated Fulfillment; Biotech; and Military upgrades. We continue to maintain our base in medical, computer/telecom and industrial equipment.
Five of our principals have been with HATHAWAY ten years or longer. We are, therefore, cautious in bringing on new lines by insuring the proper synergy exists with at least two other lines and such a reputation has been established that a long and profitable relationship can exist.
